What comes to mind when the term "China" is mentioned?
In the Western narrative, our perception has been shaped by the portrayal of power disseminated through the media. They speak of control and a lack of freedoms, of economic growth, technology and the shadow of a pandemic. All of this converging towards a potential future as the leading global power.
I had the opportunity to spend a month in China, capturing the essence of its daily life through my lens. The objective was to explore the stark differences often reiterated to the point of weariness, as well as the shared human experiences that bind us all together.
This a journey through the cities of Pekin and Shenyang.
